It's exciting times here in Texas! Our Technology Department has been working hard t o refresh our devices by providing educators with new Macbooks. We are beyond lucky to be in a district where digital learning is not just valued, but also supported. Having reliable educator devices allows us to design and implement deeper learning experiences. We can learn alongside our children and be more mobile throughout the classroom. Anytime there is change, even if it is a good change, there is a learning curve. I am such a creature of habit that I spent several days trying to get my new Mac to be set up the way my old one was. (#dontjudge) That is why I am so glad to share some curated resources my team gathered to help guide you as you get acquainted with your new MacBook. Many of these are from the Technology ZenDesk, but all can help you become a Jedi Master of your Mac! Click here to visit the drawing above and access the links! Each blu...
It is the last day of school here in Texas and boy did we earn our summer! I'll be blogging through the summer, but possibly not as often so make sure to sign up on the top right to have the posts emailed to you. As we pack up our school lives and head for the pool, I want to provide you with a quick tip to help your brain remember important things after summer ends. Since it was a crazy time of year, I wanted to make sure you, my readers, benefit from the learning even if you did not get to chat with us. What is Google Keep? Keep is an online space that syncs across your devices for sticky notes, to do lists, reminders and everything else your heart desires organizing. How do I use Google Keep? Our team found this video from Matt Miller at www.ditchthattextbook.com to be really helpful in learning to use it! How can Google Keep be used i...

As Coppell is 1:1 in grades 4-12 and iPad and MacBook heavy in all grades, I started thinking about why our district uses Apple programs and devices to support deeper learning. What makes us use Apple in Education? The facts say… We have 1:1 iPads. 3 of our schools are recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools. We have several Apple Distinguished Educators in our district. Many of our teachers have become Apple Teachers over the past year. But truthfully, in order to truly impact our learners, it must go deeper than that. Those of us that became Apple Teachers, what are we doing with that knowledge? How do we take what we know about the ease of use in Apple programs to design deeper learning experiences? This winter, you are invited to learn with me and some of my coaching team as we explore Apple...
