It's exciting times here in Texas!  Our Technology Department has been working hard t o refresh our devices by providing educators with new Macbooks. We are beyond lucky to be in a district where digital learning is not just valued, but also supported.  Having reliable educator devices allows us to design and implement deeper learning experiences.  We can learn alongside our children and be more mobile throughout the classroom. Anytime there is change, even if it is a good change, there is a learning curve. I am such a creature of habit that I spent several days trying to get my new Mac to be set up the way my old one was. Happy Halloween, Readers! My blog today is devoted to providing you some quick "techno" treats, aka things that are rocking my world this week! 1.  FlipGrid Connections and Discovery  Did you ever wish you could find other classrooms' global projects and invite others to participate easily in yours?   Put down the Google Search because FlipGrid's new Connections area changes the game.    FlipGrid Connections Also exciting is the new Discovery section.  Not only can you search for topics to add to your own grids, but you can add and share topics with other educators too.  This feature is great when you want to share a topic out with other classrooms, but you don't want to include learner videos.  They act as "templates" only. Hi Readers! After being in Everyone Can Code training for the last few days, you could say I am in an Apple state of mind.  Last night, I came across a tweet from Apple in Education about a new lesson experience/template available at appleteacher.apple.com  Check out the video on the tweet to see the lesson in action:   https://twitter.com/AppleEDU/status/912804768057143296  Using Keynote in a project like this would be a great way to kick off Genius Hour, help learners get to know each other at the beginning of the year, or as a visual cue for learners to use during learner led conferences.
