TMST: Region 10 Tech Conference

Happy Tuesday, Blog Readers!

 We are inching toward the end of the year so I will make this TMST post short.  I attended a the R10 Tech Conference yesterday and I made a quick storify of the conference hashtag.  Yes, that's right, you get to learn from me AND my PLN in this post!

 A Storify is just a collection of social media posts, pictures, and links that are curated into one place!  It can be great for telling the "story" of a CBL or UBD, as a way to reflect upon your learning for summative conferences, or as an end of the year reflection activity!
How do you share out learning from conferences and PL?

    What a phenomenal way to curate all of this awesomeness! Was this done with Storify Free or 2? What was your biggest take away from the conference?

      This was made in Storify free version. I am such a learning nerd that it is hard to just pick one takeaway, but I really resonated with Steven Anderson's (@web20classroom) Keynote. It's not just about learning new things and staying open, but also about what you do to share that learning out. I also loved how Angie Cheatham (DigitalAngieC) is using Snapchat to create "PDSnaps" of exciting learning. :)

Hi Readers! TMST: An Apple A Day

I was once told that it is important for us as educators to remember what learning feels like .  To do this, we must actively involve ourselves in learning new things.   Last week, Apple released its Apple Teacher program , which is a professional learning challenge to help educators learn more about using iPads and Macs in an educational setting.   This self-paced challenge provides educators several modes  (Multi-touch book, help site, or from the Apple store)   in which to learn about using Mac and iPad in education.  Upon successful completion of a quick 5 question assessment for different skills, educators earn electronic badges.   To me, this was a perfect way for me to remember what learning feels like.   I immediately went into NERD mode and began the program.  On a Friday night.   Yep, I'm super cool.  But the neat part was that a few of my awesome CISD friends were also doing it too.  Back and forth we went on Twitter and I was reminded how fun learning can be when

Jamming out with Jamboard
